Nearly everyone of us had build warped Flaps. We had this problem with solid and buildup Flaps. To get straight flaps we made for our last 6 Models balsa covered flaps. At first you have to build the flaps like a buildup type (the angled rips app. 30°).

Than you have to sand the flaps over pianowire as a guide. You have to choose the wire matching your flaps. For flat flaps the front and rear wire are the same. For profiled flaps it’s the best to remove equal material from the upper and lower side. That means when the uncovered flap should have 6 mm at the front and 4 mm at the end you have to sand at first the upper side over a 6 and 5 mm wire, turn the flap and sand the lower side over a 6 and 4 mm wire. The ready sanded flap cores must be 2 times sheeting thickness thinner than the ready flap.

Now place the flap cores on a flat surface covered with waxpaper. Now spread slow-zyano on the upper wood surface

Cover the flap core with the slightly oversized sheeting. A flat woodplank on top and weight it down.

When the glue has cured cut away the oversized sheeting

with the covered side down again on the building table, slow-zyano on the upper side and once again the sheeting, the plank and the weight.

When the glue has cured, trim and sand the flaps.
